Back in the early 2000's, I was a military wife looking for a job at my husband’s new duty station. Each time we moved, I needed to start my career searching all over again.

I was increasingly growing frustrated with the whole process. It felt like an old school game of Legend of Zelda, and I had lost the paper map. (Yes, I’m dating myself with this reference!) I was randomly walking through the job application process in the hopes to stumble across the coveted job offer.

I had enough, so I went into hyper research and learning mode. I was looking for and going to find THE CHEAT CODES! I wanted to know all the details so I could use them to my advantage and quickly advance through the game that is Job Search.

I wanted to know so many things, like; why I needed both a resume and a cover letter. I wanted to know what needs to be on those documents and why. Who is reading this anyway? What is the process once I submit my documents?

I had so many questions. I was going to learn the game. Play it professionally, honorably, then win! And that is precisely what I did. Since then I have been sharing my knowledge and experience with other job seekers.

Then 2018 came along, and I was looking for a new adventure. I started considering all the avenues I could take. A recurring channel kept presenting itself, helping others with their career journey.

I had this overwhelming urge to share the "cheat codes" I had learned. That way, other job seekers could navigate quickly and land an excellent opportunity of their own.

And that is how my books, YouTube videos, and coaching business came to be.
